Google Account Info: When you sign in with Google, I receive your name, email address, and profile picture.
Health & Nutrition Preferences: Your dietary goals, food preferences, allergies, and health objectives — everything you share to help me personalize your plan.
Usage Data: How you interact with the app, so I can keep improving your experience.

How I Keep It Safe

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. I use encrypted database connections and follow best practices for data protection. I never sell your personal information to third parties.

Third-Party Services

Google Sign-In: I use Google Sign-In for authentication. When you sign in, your use of Google services is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. I only access the basic profile information needed to create your account.
OpenAI: I use OpenAI's API to generate your personalized nutrition recommendations. When I do this, I send relevant context (like your goals and meal info) to process your request — but I never send your name, email, or Google account info. OpenAI's use of data is governed by their Privacy Policy.
MongoDB Atlas: Your data is stored on MongoDB Atlas with encryption at rest and in transit.

Data Retention

I keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all your data is permanently removed within 30 days. If you're inactive for more than 12 months, I may reach out before cleaning up your data.

Children's Privacy

Shellel is not intended for children under 13. I don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided me with their data, please contact me and I'll delete it promptly.

Your Rights

Access: You can request a copy of your personal data at any time.
Deletion: You can request deletion of your account and all associated data. Visit the account deletion page for details.
Correction: You can update your personal information through the app.
Revoke Access: You can revoke Shellel's access to your Google account through your Google Account settings.

Changes to This Policy

I may update this privacy policy from time to time. I'll post the new policy on this page and update the date above.
