Hot cocoa
Also called: hot cocoa, hot chocolate, cocoa, garam cocoa, hot coco, hot-chocolate, hot cocao
Hot cocoa is that cozy, ghar wali drink you reach for on a rainy evening, after school, or when the AC is too cold and you want something warm in your hands. Made with milk, cocoa and a little sugar, it’s rich, chocolatey and feels like a small dessert in a mug.

gastroenterology Gut Health Insight
This hot cocoa is gentle on the stomach because milk gives it protein and calcium, while cocoa adds a little natural bitterness and polyphenols. But since it has no fiber and some sugar, it won’t really feed your gut bacteria much, so it’s more of a comfort drink than a gut-friendly one. If you want to make it easier on digestion, keep it lukewarm and try adding a pinch of cinnamon or using less sugar so it feels lighter after a meal.
